Today I’m talking about online cooking and baking classes for kids. As some of you know, my 9 year old daughter is obsessed with cooking and baking! Every second she gets, she’s in the kitchen experimenting, whipping something up, and making a huge mess. Ha! I love how she experiments with food and even makes her own recipes, but I wanted something or someone who would really teach her how to cook!
She loves to experiment with food and recipes. Over the years, I’ve been gifted with some interesting end results from her cooking…the kind of food only a mother could love. 🙂
With four other children and a very busy schedule, I don’t have the time (or patience) to teach her to cook all day long. In fact, cooking is one of the skills I missed out on when I was growing up, raised by a single mom who was working full-time.
Anyhoo – I have been searching all over for a cooking school for my little wanna-be chef, and I couldn’t find anything locally that had the quality and the curriculum I wanted. Yes, I wanted my daughter to really learn how to cook – the basics and the fundamentals, learn kitchen safety, and learn how to cook healthy and delicious fare!
That’s a tall order, I know!
My little chef teaching her little sister:
So, I was super excited to find an online cooking school especially for kids that teaches them the fundamentals all the way up to advanced cooking techniques. It’s called Kids Cook Real Food – and is taught by a mother of four children. The quality of the curriculum and the video classes is fantastic!
Katie Kimball, the mom in charge of Kids Cook Real Food, has a passion for cooking with children. She’s designed this phenomenal program that gets kids in the kitchen, making delicious food they will actually eat. And it’s not junky food, either – it’s simple and nutritious meals that are made from everyday ingredients you probably already have in your fridge or pantry.
We tried out the Free Trial before making a decision on whether or not to purchase the program, because I wanted to make sure it was a quality class that my daughter would actually like. We watched the first lesson together, and she got so excited!
Even my 11 year old, 6 year old, and 3 year old children wanted to do the program, even though they usually stay as far away from the kitchen (and cooking) as possible!
Anyway, I’m really excited about this online class. I’ve been searching for an online kids’ cooking class just like this for a long time. I’m so glad I stumbled across Kids Cook Real Food, and I can’t wait to see what delicious meals come my way in the next few months!
I’m all about teaching my kids life skills. Academics are important, yes. But I want to know that when my children go out into the world, they will have a head start and be able to care for themselves and their potential families in a healthy, nurturing way. This is a great tool for that – and I’m excited that all my kids can use it (the course never expires).
Have you ever done an online cooking class with your kids? What did you think?
